President
Dr. Jean Damascene UWIZEYIMANA (MD, MPH).
Dr. Jean Damascene UWIZEYIMANA is a medical doctor in Rwanda, the founder and the current president of Rwandan Youth Development and Voluntary Organization (RWAYDAVO). He has chosen to work in the community and he feels very happy working in advocacy issues. This is natural in his life, and always has been. This idea comes from his experience because he started working within the community since 2008. Since then, have had the opportunities to acquire experience working with youth and the underserved communities and he identified that many projects don’t target the whole community, and the poorest are usually forgotten. To deal with this issue, he founded RWAYDAVO.
He is highly skilled medical professional with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital and clinical laboratory industry in the infectious disease area. Public health physician successful at leveraging career experience to enhance project organizational productivity and efficiency by effectively directing and supporting operations, services and solutions. A goal-oriented professional with a strong expertise in clinical research and healthcare systems strengthening and offering more than four years of combined leadership and management experiences from working with institutions including hospitals, Ministries of Health, donors as well as international and local non-governmental public health implementing partners, universities, and multilateral organizations in Africa, Asia, Europe and North America.
